Team Vitality Partners with BYD France as Official Vehicle Supplier
BYD France has teamed up with Team Vitality as their official vehicle supplier, marking another step in the Chinese automaker’s growing involvement in the sports and gaming sponsorship scene.
As part of this partnership, the BYD DOLPHIN G DM-i plug-in hybrid will be the official vehicle for Team Vitality, providing essential transportation for their players and teams. The collaboration was revealed on July 20 through the organizations’ social media channels.
While the companies indicated that the agreement is set for the summer, they did not share details about the financial aspects, the number of vehicles involved, or if there is a cash sponsorship element. There was also no mention of any extensive activation programs, jersey placements, or a long-term contract.
This supplier role makes the agreement more focused than a typical major team sponsorship, yet it allows BYD to connect with one of France’s leading esports brands while giving Team Vitality a reliable mobility partner.
This announcement aligns with BYD’s existing esports strategy in China. In June, BYD Ocean became the first Chinese automotive brand to sponsor the League of Legends Pro League for the 2026 season, stepping into a prominent role after Mercedes-Benz concluded its long-standing partnership with the league.
Previously, BYD had established a global strategic partnership with NIP Group in 2024, primarily targeting the company’s League of Legends operations in China. The automaker has also been a sponsor of NIP Group’s Honor of Kings team, Wuhan eStarPro, since 2021.
The collaboration with Team Vitality marks a significant expansion of BYD’s esports sponsorship efforts into a major European organization. This move follows BYD’s broader strategy in French sports marketing, which included a three-year global automotive partnership with Paris Saint-Germain just days before the Vitality announcement, encompassing vehicle supply, content creation, events, and fan engagement activities.
